Insulated Steel Roofs for Spring 2027
Protect your hive with a robust insulated steel roof, made to order in the UK for British weather. These roofs are fabricated from 0.9mm galvanised steel with fully welded corners and zinc-painted welds for long-lasting corrosion protection.
PIR insulation helps reduce heat loss in winter and moderate heat gain in summer. The steel construction has no wooden subframe, helping avoid rot and reducing maintenance.
Available options
- National/Commercial: internal dimensions 480mm × 480mm, 25mm PIR insulation, 40mm overhang and 65mm overall height.
- Langstroth: internal dimensions 520mm × 430mm, 15mm PIR insulation, 30mm overhang and 45mm overall height.
- Dadant: internal dimensions 520mm × 450mm, 15mm PIR insulation, 30mm overhang and 45mm overall height.
- Deep Langstroth: the same external dimensions as the standard Langstroth roof, with the deeper National-style recess, 25mm PIR insulation, 40mm overhang and 65mm overall height.
All roofs feature welds coated with zinc galvanising paint to help prevent corrosion. They are made to order, with delivery or collection arranged for spring 2027. Custom sizes can be discussed before ordering.
Pre-orders are now open for spring 2027. Prices are currently held at the existing level for the standard options. The Deep Langstroth option is £35 including VAT. We may review prices before production begins if steel or insulation costs change.
